With all the big and semi-big comic book properties being scooped up right and left, it’s really nice to see some of the more modest comic book series being optioned. It’s even nicer when there’s an actual bidding war over a property, as there was with Boom! Studios’ “Talent,” since you would assume the creators are making out fairly well.

I haven’t read it yet, but Andrew seemed to like the comic, and apparently Hollywood agreed, with Universal beating out Dreamworks, Warner Brothers and three other studios for the rights to the new series. Man, one issue’s come out and the studios were all over it. Looks like the current spate of comic book movies hasn’t quite hit critical mass just yet.
