In case you haven’t heard via Howard Stern, the New York Post, the LA Times, or read it yourself, there was a pretty shocking ending to Civil War #2, one that’s sure to make the Internet implode over the next few days. Click the link below to find out what all the hub-ub is about, but this is your last warning: spoilers ahead!

At the very end of the issue, Tony Stark holds a press conference, during which Peter Parker officially comes out to the world, taking off his mask and announcing, “My name is Peter Parker, and I’ve been Spider-Man since I was 15 years old. Any questions?”

Civil War #2 will be reviewed in Monday’s KFR Comics Roundup, but feel free to chime in with your thoughts here. One thing I will say: kudos to Marvel for actually doing this in the regular Marvel universe continuity.

I understand why Marvel did this in regular old Marvel U since they’ve basically killed the character over time with the latest being the god-awful Iron Spidey costume. There’s really nothing left to do with the character other than give up his secret identity.

If they undo it! The first thing they need to do is get Peter and Mary Jane divorced.

Peter and MJ are fine.
They need to reverse his ID. Just like Jean Paul Valley couldn’t stay Batman.

I dunno man, their marriage just feels very stale. What good stories have really come of it? Same as Supes/Lois. At least him IDing himself is something new for a comic icon.
