Superman Is Not Gay, Part 372

Whether you buy into the whole “Superman’s gay” thing or not, you have to admit that this standee promoting the film in movie theater lobbies nationwide is unfortunate at best. I’ve been hearing enough good things about the film, both from people whose taste I trust and those whose I’m a little more leery about, but I’ll be damned if I’ll ever agree with anyone that says Warner Brothers marketed the film effectively. They certainly sold the hell out of it, and various tie-in products have been marketed to perfection, but the entire campaign to stir up excitement about the movie has been dubious at it’s best, and craptacular at it’s worst. Nonsense like these uber-dorky standees just show that the WB are gonna be lucky that they didn’t manage to send “Superman Returns” the way of “Poseidon” (56 million bucks in over a month!).

At filtering out all the “Superman Is Gay” new stories that have been flooding my in-box for the last 3 weeks? Damn straight. There’s another dozen every freaking day, and it’s becoming more and more difficult to slog through the boring ones to find gems like this!
