Someone recently posted three shots of a proposed armor for the upcoming Iron Man flick that visual effects supervisor John Nelson rejected in favor of something that more closely resembles the Ari Granov version currently in use in the comics. I applaud the desire to actually try to remain close to the source material in a superhero flick, but I gotta admit, I really, really like this design. It totally looks like Iron Man while managing to appear completely functional.

When you say that you really like the design I hope you didn’t actually mean that you would have liked the design for the movie… that would be just plain wrong. The design that has been chosen for the movie is utterly fantastic (to say the least) and the design which is shown in the above caption is just utterly… well… utterly ridiculous.
