X3 DVD Release @ Wal-Mart Gets Exclusive Disc

I’m really getting tired of this exclusive disc news. Best Buy gets an exclusive bonus disc in the Boston Legal box set, the My Name Is Earl set has different bonuses depending on whether you buy it as Circuit City or Target, and now Wal-Mart gets a fat bonus disc packaged with X3. Not that I’m all stoked to buy X3, but it’s really frustrating to know that the next time I grab a DVD, I stand a good chance of getting the shaft somehow. I love having hardcopies all nicely packaged up, but all this is making me more and more ready for the inevitable future when we’ll be able to download everything a la carte.

Smart business though. My guess is that Walmart used their muscle to get an exclusive packed in to drive up sales.

The second disk is stupid. It is some lame stuff about the comics and not about the movie like the packaging says.

Yeah, what’s up with the mislabeled bonus disc? Don’t get me wrong, I found the comic book guys talking about the orgins of the comic book xmen fascinating .. but it was NOT what was promised on the back of the dvd box! I still want to see what was suppose to be on that disc. Arg!
