Pimp Your (Star Wars) Geek

This is mildly interesting. Lucas has apparently teamed up with Zazzle to provide his legion of fanboys (and girls) with the ability to create semi-customizable Star Wars t-shirts and overpriced poster prints. I played around with the make-a-shirt engine for a bit and came to the conclusion that, while cool in theory, the limitations are just a little too strong to make this a genuinely badass service. The “add text” option really just means you can choose from a selection of pre-written phrases, and the resizing tool is glitchy at best. I am impressed with the ability to throw together a print that’ll run you around $700 for the droids and Wicket in their cartooniest glory. Now that’s some nerdcore dedication, and a firm desire to never, ever score with the ladies.

For that kind of money, you could hire an artist to do an original piece for you…
