A Love Anthem To “Battlestar Galactica”

When I was a kid, I had two sets of toys I loved above all others. The first was my Six Million Dollar Man figures, including Bigfoot, of course! What kid didn’t love popping the chest plate off Steve Austin, or looking through the hole in the back of his head to replicate his super vision? Hell, I’m pretty sure I even had the Oscar figure at some point.
My other favorites were my Battlestar Galactica toys, specifically my Viper and Cylon ships. Unsafe by today’s kid’s toy standards, these babies had pointy corners and little missiles that shot out with surprising force. Many an afternoon was spent recreating the show in my bedroom, and I regret getting rid of these somewhere along the way more than just about any other childhood toys.
The best part is that with the advent of the new, badass Battlestar Galactica series, I know I’m not alone. I must have watched this video half a dozen times in the last two days, and I’ll probably watch it another couple of times before I let it drift off into the internet ether.
