Assistant: Yeah. There’s been some dispute about his origins, though.
Female editor: Oh, really? But he is real, right?
Assistant: Yeah.

I had a similar conversation regarding Green Arrow on Smallville with my sister.
Sister: “Whats the deal with thsi Green Arrow guy?”
Me: “He’s a Billionare who fights crime with archery”
Sister “but is he real?”
Me “ummm, no hes a comic book character”
Sister “But he was in the comics?”
Me “yeah”
Sister “Oh ok so he is real”
