According to the NYT, Time Warner is expected to soon announce their development of a little item called Total HD: “a single videodisc that can play films and television programs in both Blu-ray and HD-DVD…” Huh. This actually reeks of legitimate common sense, but personally, I’m staying out of this stupid fray until an actual decision or some sort of compromise is made. Anyway:

Executives at Time Warner and its Hollywood subsidiary hope to spur sales of new DVD players and movies by gaining the support of retailers and cajoling rival studios into making their film and television libraries available in both formats on a single disc.
