Last year, the only skateboarding magazine that ever mattered celebrated their 25th anniversary. Thrasher Magazine shared the joy with their readers and released issues 1-12, one a month, as hi-res scans on their website. It being 2007 now, the entire first year’s catalog is available for downloading. You should do so.
