World of Warcraft’s Burning Crusade Loaded, Played, Obsessed Over

Seth Schiesel of the NYT had many people’s dream job of playing the new World of Warcraft expansion pack The Burning Crusade and then writing about his experience not only for an influential and widely read publication, but while the game actually unfolded — which had to be a lot more fun than trying to sum everything up for a review dozens of hours later.
I’ve actually never taken the dive into World of Warcraft and I never will. But I am kind of stunned by its vast popularity, all-consuming obsessivness, the ramifications of its virtual universe, apparent playability, and near-limitless scope. Anyway, Shiesel makes it sound like a pretty good time…if maybe a little bit insane…
Anyway, you can start reading his “online serial review” of The Burninating Crusade HERE.
The second part is HERE.
The review continues with some interesting observations about gaming in general HERE.
It sounds like he’s going to keep going with this diary-type deal, so be on the lookout for more dispatches if WoW is your thang.
