I remember the first time I’d heard of Love and Rockets. The comic shop my father used to stop by in Security Square Mall in Baltimore was using plastic bags with an advertisement for a L&O spin-off or storyline called ” Mechanics.” The image of a woman with a wrench over he rshoulder and a rocketship next to her had me under the impression that it was a sci-fi series, and it wasn’t until years later that I learned that this wasn’t the case. I’ve still only read a handful of issues here and there - a shame, to be sure - but I’ve been a fan of Los Bros. Hernandez’ art since that silly little plastic bag. I’d gladly drop $20 for one of these limited edition posters Fantagraphics is releasing to celebrate a quarter oo a decade of one of the most influential independent comics to ever hit the scene.
