Hasbro has officially released images of some upcoming Transformers: The Movie product. And let me tell ya, they whet my appetite something fierce (sorry, been reading too much of The Goon lately)! Click on the link below to see images of the Optimus Prime figure, Optimus Prime voice-changer helmet, the insane Ultimate Bumblebee and more.

Ladies and gentlemen: Ultimate Bumblebee! Sure, he’s gonna be $89.99, but check out Hasbro’s product description!
After you manually convert the car to robot mode, BUMBLEBEE stands an impressive 14” tall. With the touch of a button, robotic BUMBLEBEE comes to “life” with speech, music – featuring DEVO’s “Whip It”, battle and conversion sounds and fully animated head, arms and wings. BUMBLEBEE’s sound detection capabilities enable him to respond to noise, and he can also automatically aim and fire a missile.

And to think that VW gave up the chance to have a large number of young american males playing with a bug. Great job GM. Build the market base as early as possible. Oh and the robot looks pretty good too.

I’m coming around on the designs; Optimus looks great, Bumblebee looks pretty damn cool too. It seems like the producers wanted them to look more “alien.” Still, the pics of Starscream that leaked to the net look awful.
P.S. Been watching Beast Wars — awesome show.

Well, as always in makign something into a major film they change formats and ideals to make it all fit into about 2 hours. Still, I am old school and though these designs look cool. I still feel like they left a lot out. The Decepticons look TOO alien to me. More like T4’s on steriods. Sigh.

I know what you mean…hopefully it’s a good movie, plain and simple. And hearing Peter Cullen as Optimus should help TONS. Did they cast Frank Welker (I think that’s his name…) as Megatron?

Frank Welker = the highest box-office draw in cinema history:
