Surprise, surprise: It turns out that all it takes to beat 300 Spartans are four mutant turtles. According to Box Office Mojo, TMNT made $25.5 million to debut at #1, knocking sleeper-hit-that-keeps-on-going 300 to #2, which still raked in another $20.5 million.
Having seen TMNT on opening night, I’m happy to say it’s a solid film that actually stays in-continuity with the original live-action flick (which remains a childhood favorite). There are plot holes big enough to fill with a Mack truck, and it’s a little light on action; still, the animation is terrific, and the Raphael vs. Leonardo centerpiece fight scene makes the whole thing DVD-purchase worthy.
KFR Rating: B

Ninja Turtles VS 300
Thats a movie I wanna see!!!
Although TMNT vs Ronin would probably work better
Maybe next Thundercats VS Sin City
Saw it last night. This movie kicked ASS.
I would see it again in the theaters.
How awesome was Raph VS. Leo?
Too awesome for words. And the animation was spectacular.
