Sam Raimi Gets Back To His Horror Roots

FearNet, an online horror site co-owned by Sony, Comcast and Liongate, has announced that Spider-meister Sam Raimi will be producing two new web series for them. The first one announced sounds kind of cheesy but could be fun, but it’s the second that’s really interesting. “Ghost House” is a prequel to the theatrical adaptation of “30 Days of Night” and will serve double duty as Fearnet’s “launch series.”

Up first from Raimi is “Devil’s Trade,” which follows three teenagers who find themselves cursed after buying an item off a Web site. Ben Ketai wrote the script and Toby Wilkins will direct.

Second project, also penned by Ketai, will serve as a prequel to “30 Days of Night,” the Ghost House- Columbia Pictures feature about vampires who feast on an isolated Alaskan town. Skein will debut in advance of the October release of the feature.
