James Jean Paintings Are Worth Some Coin

It’s no wonder James Jean isn’t in a rush to become an interior comic book artist - if my original cover art was able to fetch thousands of dollars on the secondary market, I doubt I’d want to subject myself to that sort of grind either. Jean’s art for the wraparound cover to Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall just went for over $15,000 on ebay! While I’m certain this is on the high side for his stuff considering most of his covers are of the standard non-wrapping variety, you gotta figure he’s able to fetch and easy 2-4 grand per on those as well on top of whatever DC and Marvel pay him in the first place. Not a bad living if you can swing it!

Yes, from my (very mild and largely uninformed) understanding of the art world that is on the high side.
