George Lucas, Mark Hamill And Seth Green Walk Into a Bar

The prequels may well be some of the suckiest big budget m ovies ever made, but that hasn’t killed their creator’s sense of humor - Lucas is going to be working in conjunction with the Robot Chicken crew to produce a half hour Robot Chicken: Star Wars special. It’s pretty surprising to read this, because the RC sketches can be downright nasty at times, and aren’t something you’d expect Lucas to want to be associated with. Even more shocking is the fact that this all apparently came about because the Lucasfilm people approached the RC crew about it!
The special stems from three “Star Wars” skits on “Robot Chicken,” including the popular “Emperor’s Phone Call,” featuring Darth Vader calling Emperor Palpatine to tell him that the Death Star has been blown up.
Representatives for Lucasfilm wanted to post that sketch on StarWars.com, and they set up a meeting with Green and Senreich that turned into a pitch meeting for a special.
“We were big fans of the work that Matt and Seth had done, so when they approached us about the idea to make a ‘Robot Chicken’ episode dedicated to ‘Star Wars,’ we were really enthusiastic about it,” said Tom Warner, Lucasfilm’s senior director of marketing.

This could be awesome.
It’s true, Lucas hasn’t lost his sense of humore, at least. When he was on The Colbert Report, he even dissed Episode 1 himself.
