Looks like a cross between The Batman and Xmen Evolution
But why does Wolverine get Top Billing?
May 7th, 2007 at 8:07 am
Cause he’s the angsty one.
Props for using the Wolvie “Astonishing” costume.
May 7th, 2007 at 9:04 am
It’s because he’s the most popular and has a solo movie in the pipeline.

Maybe it’s me but the character design on Wolvie is horrid. His arms are as thick as tree trunks and more than twice the size of his legs. And his “superhero” pose belies some sort of emo undercurrent with his stomach distended and all; very trendy. Plus, what is he, 7 foot tall? Isn’t he supposed to be a runt? It’s is gonna be bad from the start. This series, my friend, is no “The Batman”.
But I do like the Astonishing costume.

Yeah, he’s definitely more on the Hugh Jackman side of things, height-wise.

I agree, they’ve made him much taller probally because many ‘fans’ think he looks hot that way. In the movies, anyway…what the hell happened to the short little runt?
June 19th, 2007 at 5:37 pm
i hope rouge will be hot! like in the old days! marvel it’s time to drop the gothic chic crap, and get back to that good ole southern’ gal who’ll feed ja! swoon ya! but beat dat ass good if you cross er!
June 19th, 2007 at 5:47 pm
yeah i know! at least let her be down to earth, and not like the rouge from the movies, shy and afraid to open up,i know it’s not about her, hint “WOLVERINE” and the xmen! that crap sucks to high hell, they’re only doing this in promotion of his coming movie in 08′ but to keep real xmen fans from rioting, they threw the xmen in as supporting characters, this shit sounds like WOLVERINE AND THE SUPREMES…wolverine used to be such a badass, now look at him, alllll trimed down looking like diana ross.

wolverine is the most popular xmen so defenetely a good pick to be the lead, but the graphic seems quite poor i mean the arms are massive yet the body is like woman and the legs too. And through out the years wolverines character is being more aimed at girls by adding better looks and now they added height what next they make him stop his wolf sniffs

1st of all…they haven’t got’n Wolvie’s character right since the early 90’s. The movies did good as far as making him more tangible in flesh & blood, but nonetheless, he’s a short, moody, hairy man w/a dark past that plagues him in the present but has a good/loyal heart at the core. Even the comics are not doing “any” of the characters justice….b/c every year that passes all these writers feel the need to appease the readers by constantly “revising” these characters to make them more relatable to current events, which is stupid b/c the originality of the characters is what draws/drew people to begin with! If it’s not broke, why fix it. Producers are so quick to pump out a product to increase sales that little or no thought is actually given to plot and character development. And I strongly disagree that Wolverine is the most popular character. Storm, Beast, Cyclops, The Professor, Jean, even Magneto are just as iconic in the franchise. What directors/producers/& all the @$$holes that are in control of creating this stuff need to stop trying to modernize their stories, and take a note from Christopher Nolan in the new Batman movie and concenrate less on a household name to play a role, stick to original plotlines and character profiles, and make a great film/animated series! That’s my opinion anyway…penny for your thoughts?

First off, X, switch to decaf! Second, you bring up a lot of good points though I’m not sure I see a connection to the animated series. Anyways, I agree that the other X characters are popular, but call a spade a spade: Wolverine is pretty much the most popular comic character of the last 20 years, if not the last true comic icon created. For better or worse, if he’s in a book — his own series, Moon Knight, whatever — it sells. I don’t think the same holds true for the other characters.
December 15th, 2007 at 5:19 pm
Yes Daniel, I actually took a headache pill b4 I wrote that and it was full of caffiene, funny you should say…So, yeah…though I vented on random points there is still a connection. whether it’s an animated feature, movie, or graphic novel, a story is a story is a sory. All the arguments I’ve made can easily be applied to an animated feature. Bottom line for the slow of mind: To make a good “feature” you need to concentrate on story. X-men especially, because when you take away all te cool powers and glamour, you have a very, very good story. It’s about change and equality, fighing the oppresion and injustce of men, overcoming differences, and much deeper elements of human imperfection. These types of things you won’t find in x-men evolution (which is like watching an animted Dawson’s Creek w/costumes and powers. Kids today have very little “good” toons anymore. I’m actually quite young myself and I’ve really never seen a cartoon like the original x-men. I doubt this one will be memorable. And I agree wih some previous comments, Wolverine looks like a 6′ emo body building accident.

Cyclops is the Original X-Men and I hate how they give so much love to Wolverine he didn’t even exsist til’ the 80’s and was in the Shitty HULK to boot. Cyclops is the best X-Men plain and simple.
February 4th, 2008 at 6:10 pm
lol & haha cyclops may be an original but he’s still the weakest x-men and thats why its not cyclops and the x-men and also he’s to weak and can’t handle jeans death
February 12th, 2008 at 2:39 pm
hes got a point cyclops is stupid but emma frost is cool if u seen the trailer but wat i hate is pyro being a good guy dont u think thats a rip off dude

April 28th, 2008 at 11:34 am
Yay way to go at failing Cykes. If you checked it out Wolverine was actually around before the 80’s(Increadible Hulk #180 was out in October 1974) and actually got his first solo comic then(1988). People hate on him because he is the spot light, but you know what If it wasn’t because of people like you buying the comics with him in it then he wouldn’t be showing up in Spiderman or Black Panther to boost sales. So as much as you can QQ about him being so popular, its because of you that hes so popular.

June 20th, 2008 at 5:59 am
first i just wanna say i REALLY can’t wait ta see this series and as much as i will agree that Wolverine (despite being my favourite character) is over-used (Wolverine origins is not my cup of tea) i think they chose Wolverine for a number of reasons a. Wolvie film coming out b. some do consider Wolverine to be the most popular (if not the most recognisable) and finally c. becuase if the right person is writing (Frank Miller, Mark Millar, Greg Ruka, Bill Jemas, Joe Quesada and Paul Jenkins. just to name a few) then Wolverine’s stories can stand on their own even if you take away the whole mutant and super-hero bit all-in-all i think we should all just be happy that marvel is throwing yet another bone for us to naw at becuase if your like me and can’t get enough of anything marvel then this is yet another reason to rejoice
p.s sorry for the long post i just had a point to make
