I know that there’s a lot of crossover in the comic book industry, with fans of one company or line rarely not being fans of one or more other companies or lines, but I’m kind of shocked that enough people pre-ordered both the second Absolute Sandman and Harbinger: The Beginning for Amazon to send me an email recommending the latter to me. Not to cast aspersions on the quality of H:TB, because I know a lot of people hold it in high regard, but it just doesn’t seem like effective and efficient cross-promotion to me. Or are there some sort of similarities between the two that I’m simply not seeing?

To be honest, I’m kind of shocked that there’s a new collection from the Valiantverse coming out at all, as I’m sure a few of you are too. I’m also amused that someone thought it a good idea to use Wizard’s naming the first issue of Harbinger as “Collectible of the Decade.” Talk about damning with absolutely no praise at all!
