Probably the most interesting thing The Wifeâ„¢ saw at MAGIC – Black Superman has graduated from weird internet meme to genuine piece of pop art. I’d totally buy a nice print of this for my office area if it turned up on sale for a reasonable price. Note the Fantastic Four-esque “4″ in his right eye adding to the bizarreness of the piece.
If anyone knows the full story behind this, I’d sure love to see it posted in the comments!

That’s Howard Stern whack-packer beetlejuice dressed up as Superman. I’ve seen a pic of him suited up somewhere, but my Google-fu is failing me at the moment…
No it isn’t. The guy this painting is based on is a Comic Con regular, there’s a few pics of him knocking about online… He always looks happy and he could kick the living crap out of ‘fat bald guy dressed as Optimus Prime’.
Tomfooler E is right! I didn’t see this guy at this year’s Comic-Con, but he was there last year! He is awesome!!! I wish I had a picture (I know I’ve seen a pic of him somewhere on the web).
Brian Michal Bendis immortalized him in a panel of his short story collection, “Total Sellout”
Surprizingly, the picture is a really good likeness. However, I don’t know what’s up with the 4 in his eye…
Where did you find this picture?
That’s Duvall! I forget his last name.
The original pic is here:

He’s usually at Comicon and usually dressed like that.
I live in West LA and I see this guy on a bike every now and then.
The painting is by Madsteez, and you can order a print from his website…

Yep his name is Duval.
Actually, that’s the only name he goes by. I think it’s a leftover homage to Prince.
I have seen him at various comic shows since the 80’s.
