Bootleg Museum: The Pouting Batman

Response to the Spider-Man bootlegs was pretty strong, so I thought I’d share this amazing bootlegged Batman that I’ve had for years. Really, it’s the crown jewel of all the bootlegs I’ve ever owned. It’s a vinyl statue, based on the Michael Keaton Batman, with a pouting facial expression that’s completely bizarre while remaining totally appropriate to the character. The detail in the piece is what sends it to the top of the rankings, with the slightly bent ear and the ridiculous lips - enough talk, take a look at it for yourselves!

I have one similar to this, but for some reason he has a hammer in his hand behind his back.

I have two of them - one small ( the one with the ‘hammer’ ) and a larger one. Both are Batman piggy banks. The small one has a companion Superman bank, which I also own… I suspect they’re Asian knockoffs - but lots of fun!

Crap. I forget where I packed the damn thing, but I have one very similar to that. I’d venture it’s by the same bootleg compnmay. In it he’s not pouting, but she’s kinda scheming. And he’s holding something behind his back, a hammer. Why does Batman have a hammer? Why?! I also got a Superman with it, but it wasn’t as funny as that. Ah. Canal Street bootlegs. Hilarious.
