Fear Not, Citizens: Optimus Prime Has Secured Costco

As I was perusing the DVD section at Costco this afternoon, I noticed that the entire endcap is taken up by Transformers DVDs. Obviously, they expect a lot of folks to buy it, so that wasn’t too odd. However, every single DVD, including the half dozen or so HD DVDs, featured Prime’s face with nary a Megatron to be found. A quick look on Amazon shows that they did indeed produce both Prime and Megatron covers, so something fishy is up. Did Costco receive all Primes and Sam’s Club all Megatrons? Is this luck of the draw? Did all the Megatron covers sell out already, leaving only the goodie two-shoes edition on the racks? These are the questions idiots like me mull over while shopping.
Whatever the case, I took some photos of the endcap, as well as of the special Costco exclusive collector pack with a book and keychain all shrinkwrapped nice and tight with a (Prime covered) 2-disc DVD. It’s all up in the KFR gallery, here.

Megatron is on the other side. Prime in on the front, Meg is in the back. But you have to open the package first. There is a sheet of paper in the back that covered up Megatron until you peel off the plastic.
