After the 5,674 Super-Duper-Hyper-Championship quick-cash-in updates to (the superb) Street Fighter II, Capcom’s Street Fighter III was met with little more than a collective “Meh” from gamers when released. But those who skipped out on SF3 missed one of the great fighting games of all time, with incredible graphics, balanced fighters, and the best aspect of the franchise: perfect controls.

All of which is why I am just plain psyched to report that after years of nada, Capcom has just announced that Street Fighter IV is in development. Better yet, here’s the kick-ass teaser trailer:


My guess on what the actual game will be like? Good ‘ol fashioned 2-D fighting with character models looking like those in the trailer. Shoryuken!
