TIME has released their Top Ten lists for the year, and the graphic novel section has a few pleasant surprises on it. First, the always genius Achewood gets some major respect with TIME choosing it for their number one spot. It’s followed by LoEG: Black Dossier at #2, All Star Superman at 3 and Marvel Zombies at #4.

I like the fact that the list feels genuinely honest with a good mix of superhero-ish stuff with the more artsy-fartsy titles that tend to dominate mainstream media’s comic book coverage. Most superhero titles may be crap, but there are a few that genuinely deserve some recognition, and I think TIME pretty much nailed it with ASS and Marvel Zombies.
