The Ninja Burglar — Staten Island’s most nefarious thief and the borough’s top news story of 2007 — waited about one day into the New Year before striking again, hitting a home in Castleton Corners and making off with about $20,000 in jewelry.
“It’s being incorporated into the burglary pattern and it looks to be the same guy,” said a law enforcement source.
However, while multiple police sources close to the case said the Melhorn Road job was the work of the Ninja Burglar. A police spokesman refused to confirm that fact yesterday.
The bold bandit struck 173 Melhorn Rd. sometime between Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Friday, at which time Dr. Shahabuddin Ahmad and his family discovered the robbery, according to the source.
“I feel afraid, insecure, violated and depressed … very depressed,” said Dr. Ahmad.

holy crap, I’m from Castleton Corners. I’ll have to check on my dad’s whereabouts that day. Did the Ninja Burgler complain about his putting and the traffic by the Richmond Ave. exit of the expressway by any chance?

He did! Supposedly the Ninja Burglar was inactive for a period due to construction on the Verrazano Bridge.
