Today, Don Geronimo announced that as of May 30th, he would be vacating his job as on-air host of the nationally syndicated “The Don and Mike Show”. This announcement will end Geronimo’s 25+ years of work in radio; the majority of it spent with his radio partner, Mike O’Meara.
Geronimo cited that “he made this decision not because I was defeated by loss, but because I am rejuvenated by life.” The loss references the tragic death of his wife, Freda Wright-Source, in a car accident in the summer of 2005.
After Geronimo leaves the show, O’Meara will continue and serve as host of the aptly-named “The Mike O’Meara Show”. Other cast regulars such as Buzz Burbank, Robb Spewak and “Rockhead” Joe Ardinger will stay on the show.
