This past Christmas, amongst the ridiculous amount of presents my not-even-2 year old daughter had bestowed upon her by Santa an grandparents, was Hasbro’s Itsy Bitsy Spider-Man. Next to the tricycle she received, it was easily her favorite toy, so when it broke two weeks later, she was pretty upset. I called Hasbro and unfortunately, it was a discontinued toy and they showed no more in stock. Disappointing, but what’re you gonna do, right? So the customer service rep takes my info, promises to send another Spider-Man toy out (The Daughterâ„¢ already knows who the greatest superhero in the world is) and we’re good to go.

The next day, a package from Hasbro arrives. We open it and it’s a Goldilocks Weeble playset. A nice toy, but we already know from experience that Weebles hold zero interest for The Daughterâ„¢. I call Hasbro again, explain the situation and offer to mail the Weebles set back and call it quits, thanks very much for trying. The CSR tells me to keep the Weebles toy and gift it or donate it, checks the inventory again and finds that they’ve got 5 Itsy Bitsy Spidey’s showing up in their updated stock and that I’ll be getting one.

Two days later, we have a Weebles set on it’s way to a toy donation group and broken Spidey’s joined by his new, fully functional cousin. Thanks Hasbro!
