Vintage Power Man/Iron Fist Ads

When I was a kid, the two ads below were the coolest things I’d ever seen up to that point in my life. Sure, they make Iron Fist seem a little hipper than he actually was, but I’d never seen anything like this before. In retrospect, it was probably my first encounter with Bill Sienkiewicz art, and I was pretty much blown away. Apparently someone at Marvel felt similarly, since I got to the end of my Heroes For Hire Essentials collection and had Danny Rand and Luke Cage staring me in the face. I felt like a (young) teenager again, sans acne and a desire to drink Coors Light!
Second ad’ll be after the jump.

I totally dig older Sienkiewicz stuff like his run on PM/IF but recently, his art seems a little too disjointed and manic for my tastes.

I LOVE Sienkiewicz’s art, especially his disjointed and manic stuff! Reminds me of Ralph Steadman.
I hadn’t heard or seen anything from Bill Sienkiewicz until I recently purchased the first season of Venture Bros. and there was this beatiful gatefold interior by him! Very “Elektra: Assassin!”

I loved those ads too - someone needs to put a bunch of these into a print portfolio I’d buy it - I have Sienkiewicz’s Shadow covers portfolio and would love these too.
Stephen - did you scan these is? Can you post the high-res ones so I can print them out and stick on my wall?
