What’s the allure of this cartoon for you? I’m a Batman fanatic and I grew up on The Animated Series. Watching a few episodes of the first season of this show made me want to vomit. I’m just curious what’s appealing about it.

It’s a cartoon aimed towards kids, and they seem to like it. I think that’s a fair enough reason for it to exist and to post the images when they come KFR’s way, even if it’s not my cup of tea either.

I’d like to consider myself a Batman fan and probably have watched at least 95% of all animated creations that include Batman. And while I’ll admit that the series definitely looks and sounds more like Matsuda’s Jackie Chan Adventures than Timm’s B:TAS, I still enjoy watching it. I consider the show just another person’s interpretation of the character; nothing more, nothing less. Plus, my four-year digs it, whichis more important than what an aging fanboy like myself thinks of it.

The designs are great and I like that they finally went for a new look - but the stories lead me to wonder how Timm and Co. were able to get away with such interesting stories when they did their shows…’The Batman’ is extremely juvenile that its hard for an adult to watch whereas BTAS was great on all levels…I tend to believe kids will watch Batman in any form, as long as its familiar so why not up the quality of the writing?
I love the toys but watch the show with 1-eye open…though I did love the episode with the homage to the Michael Golden one-shot “The Player on the other side” always wanted to see The Wrath back and I see he’s also in Batman Confidential this month.

Fair enough. I guess you can give them an A effort since it’s lasted so long. From the looks of the screenshots I see on here, it’s very interesting that they take a “unique” design take on BM’s villains yet the guest stars aren’t touched.
The budget must a lot lower…(lesser writing and definitely lesser musical quality).

Matsuda left after Season 4, which may explain the reasoning behind the complete abandonment of the Batgirl/Barbara Gordon character and the lack of any redesigns on the subsequent guest stars. And I agree with the sub-par musical scoring. Although, the original theme song for this series by The Edge was spot on and equals that of the B:TAS series written by Mr. Oingo Boingo himself.
