Fans of Al Capp, classic comic strips or history may want to take note: it looks like comics.com has re-started their daily Lil Abner strips from the very beginning. I have no idea what the final strip was, but last week they wrapped up a storyline, stopped posting “new” strips and then this morning - BAM. The very first “Lil Abner” strip ever is online. For those of us too cheap/poor to afford the fantastic Dark Horse or Kitchen Sink reprints, this is a great chance to experience the strip for the first time, and for people who’ve read it all before, here’s a chance to see if they censor anything that’s become a little less than socially acceptable since Al Capp’s day. Win/win!
