Dark Spirit Pretty Much Confirmed

Looks like this confirms that he movie Spirit will be dressed in black rather than blue, unless the Photoshop monkeys at DC made a huge mistake. From the product description (emphasis mine):
This 1:6 scale figure is clothed in an authentically detailed film outfit including suit, overcoat, hat and non-removable mask. Manufactured to order. Packaged in a deluxe 4-color window box with a fifth panel.
I think it looks fine, but yeah, I’m kind of disappointed we’ll be losing the iconic blue suit. Not enough to want to even think about dropping $99.95 for this thing, but enough to still be interested in the movie.

shame on me cuz i haven’t read the spirit, even the new cooke one. but isn’t the blue suit embedded with the character? strange decision to go with the black.

Perhaps tehy are saving the Blue for The Question Movie, which will likely never get made but should!

I have read The Spirit but I forget…is the outfit really blue, or is just that it was really black but was colored blue due to technical limitations of the time, a la Batman, Spidey, etc?
P.S. Is Venom purple in Spider-Man 3???

I used to buy old Warren reprints of Spirit strips and his suit was always blue in the colored renditions. Whether it was intended by Eisner to be blue or was simply blue because a black suit wouldn’t work for the daily b&w strip, who knows?
Either way, my guess is that they decided to go black for a gritty, new-Batman-sort-of-look to avoid a campy feel. If that’s the case though, it goes against the, um, spirit of The Spirit since the strip was always light-hearted and humorous.
