“Wolverine & The X-Men” Trailer, Sans Foo Fighters

Marvel has released a new trailer for the upcoming Wolverine & The X-Men cartoon, this one without the unapproved alt-rock Foo Fighter soundtrack (which got the show’s producers a lawsuit — why not just use the classic theme from ’90s toon?), plus some extra scenes featuring tons of cameos from both mutant and non-mutant Marvel characters. Really looking forward to this — love the costumes, the tone, and the blend of the movies and comics — though between this and X-Men 3, I’m a little tired of seeing Cyclops portrayed as soft serve!

I will watch this for sure. I downloaded the entire 5 seasons of the 1990s X-Men and this right now, seems to be doing all the same stories. It’s funny that all these shows don’t have a “special thanks to Chris Claremont and John Byrne for 95% of our stories”. Still, nice to see all my old favourites, even if I never cared much for Rogue, she’s easy to tell stories about.
Cyclops was always my favourite X-Men and seeing clips with Wolverine as a leader? Wow, I don’t miss reading Marvel Comics if that’s what they’ve come to. The nutjob who was Jean Grey’s stalker leading the X-Men? I always new Magneto’s way was better.

That’s CANADIAN nutjob stalker, Mr. Roach, and it’s not actually indicative of the comics at all. In fact, aside from Genosha, Jean bing “dead” and Emma Frost working with the X-Men, this bears little resemblance to the comics. Oh, and the X-Men being disbanded and reuniting, maybe. And Prof. x dying and coming back to life in an enemy stronghold. Jesus…!

Good to hear. My wife still fails to understand my love of Cyclcops b/c he’s such a nimrod (best Chris Claremont character name EVER) in the movies. Trying to explain that he’s the team’s most powerful member doesn’t work.
I like Emma Frost - the new dad in me wonders about her outfit on a Saturday morning cartoon though.
And, I loved Wolverine. But like most people, I eventually got tired of every single new villain created being an old foe of his. I thought he was in too many books 10 years ago so I’m glad I gave up, b/c from what I see he’s in all of them now. Plus, I have a hard time thinking of a respectable Marvel villain who couldn’t kick Wolverine’s ass. He was a good outsider on the outsider super-hero team. He’s not Thor or Iron Man, but the kids love him and Marvel’s milked him for every dollar.
You have the 90s ones? Let me know if you want them and I’ll throw the raw .avi files on a couple of DVDs and mail them down to you. It had some pretty good episodes.
BTW - pumped to see Mojo in this trailer. Those stories were a ton of fun.
