Every few months, I visit the Dunkin Donuts website, just to see if a franchise has secretly popped up in the Los Angeles area, and I’m invariably disappointed by the empty results. Someday, I’ll pop in my zip code and see something like this:

Instead of this:

The latter image is especially disheartening because apparently the Baskin Robbins down the street ill gladly sell me a Dunkin Donuts gift card. I assume it’s usable for BR products as well as DD, but that still doesn’t make it terribly logical to sell DD cards to a bunch of customers who may never have been to a DD in their lives.

Who knew there was anyone with mediocre donut shop loyalty like this?
If it makes you feel any better I’d much rather have an In n Out in NYC than DD. Or decent Mexican food.
Apodaca – why you gotta be pissing in my Dunkin’ Donuts coffee?
Andrew – In N Out does lessen the sting, but there’s only so many Double doubles one can eat in a week. DD coffee can easily be a part of your daily regimen. Shoot, it took until the last few months for anyone to even figure out the concept of iced coffee out here, and it took McDonald’s to do it!
Apodoca is right. It is totally mediocre.
Krispy Kreme kicks it’s ass in the donut arena.
Krispy Kreme is awesome…at filing for bankruptcy!!
I didn’t say they had good business sense, I said they had awesome donuts.
Haha. But what is worse – living in Cali with no DD or living in Fla with no 7-11? I say the latter only because that is my hell now.
So good…people stopped buying them!
Andrew — we found an awesome, pretty authentic(we ususally get hung up on when we put in an order, cause no one understands us) Mexican place 2 blocks away in Kensington.
Wait!?! There’s no more Krispy Kreme in the US anymore? I just bought a few 2 days ago here in the good ol’ Republic of the Philippines.
KK is still here, just not nearly in the numbers they were a few years ago. They expanded way too much, too quickly, had to close a ton of stores and have been in bankruptcy for the last year or so.
