Apart from the Batman: Hush line, DC Direct has always been pretty horrible, IMO. Their worst, in a long line of badness, is their line of Preacher figures:

Y’know… if TRU really wanted to survive, they should just become a US distributor for all the cool Medicom, Kubrick, Bearbrick, Japanese, Hong Kong toys. I’d certainly be a lot poorer if they did. Assuming they didn’t charge the white-slavery prices that Sideshow does.

The DC Direct Batman is better. The Jap Joker is way better.

    I don’t know. DC Direct’s Batman’s all shiny and chipmunk-faced.

I love the Preacher line of figures. They don’t look like easy pos cash-ins at all and have at least 1.7 points of articulation.

Take a closer look and you’ll see that the HK Batman is from Begins not TDK.

Batman will be sporting his BB digs for a bit of TDK as well. So it could still be a TDK figure.

You guys realize that the Japananese ones are twice the price, I believe its something like 180$ US where as the DC Direct ones are about 80$ US…I think that kind of…MATTERS!

You get what you pay for, you should see the 12$ dollar Joker/Batman.

T Unit: …. look first of all , both the bat figures are sporting different gear.. one is the original costume and the other is the TDK one …. And please don’t be stupid.. look at the proportions of the DC direct one… super thick neck….thick belt….
One last thing .. Hong Kong is not part not of Japan, it’s part of China, please get some basic education, and please don’t say “o whatever , they are the same” . It’s just like saying new york is in england, get it ?

I just got the (Joker) “Hot-Toys ver.” today…It’s a complete different thing…the Hot-Toys version it’s REALLY a MASTERPIECE, my “DC-Direct Ver.” it’s just a “nice toy”…but as Adam said before, “You get what you pay for”. No excuses, no exceptions. If you are a REAL collector then go for the Hot-Toys ver., BUT, if you just want to have a Joker over your display cabinet, then buy the DC-Direct ver…

(..and by the way, if my memory doesn’t fail, Hong Kong it’s the “capitalist” part of China, it’s actually a VERY small portion of China… and no, it’s not even near Japan…but most of the so called “Japanese” products are also made on China…and imported back to Japan…very few things a REALLY made on Japan…T_T)
