Located in the most phenomenally named locale in the world — Scugog, Ontario — is the most metal archaeological artifact in existence: the Skull of Doom.

The skull, carved from a single piece of quartz crystal, weighs in at 11.5 pounds and measures five-and-a-half inches high, seven inches long and five inches wide. It stands out because of the clarity of the crystal, the life-like detailing, and the moveable jaw, also fashioned from the same piece of quartz. Some say it shouldn’t exist, because it was carved against the natural axis of the stone, and should have shattered. It’s been called “the weirdest gem in the world,” and “the granddaddy of all crystal balls.”

If someone puts a hand behind the skull, their hand shows up in miniature in the skull’s eyes. If it is suspended over light, that light will reflect from its eyes. While that may simply be an optical trick, many psychics have worked with the skull and said, when in a trance or meditating with it, they have seen everything from Mayan ruins to Atlantis in the quartz cranium. Some people have claimed the skull has cured their ailments.

Yeah!!
