The dollar store is a great place to grab superhero related odds and ends you may never have realized existed otherwise. In our house, we’ve grabbed plenty of children’s books for our daughter to read and/or destroy. One of her current faves is the Spider-Man & Friends book, featuring Silver Surfer, Iron Man (with oh so cute button nose) and Wolverine. Yep, they’ve got good old homicidal Wolvie in a book geared towards the 2-4 year old set.

I have to give the artist credit: whoever it was that put this book together did an excellent job. As soon as you hit the Wolverine page, the claws visually pop right out at us and the little one immediately counts them - 1…2…3! So I suppose on that basis alone, Wolverine’s proving to be more educational than the rest of the characters and thus more suited to be in a kid’s book than I initially thought.

Also, he loves to play on tire swings and is therefore completely awesome.
