Bummer news: brilliant special effects wizard and makeup artist Stan Winston has passed away. He was 62.

Best known for the Jurassic Park films and his unforgettable collaborations with James Cameron (the Terminator movies, Aliens), the four-time Oscar winner was also responsible for the creation of the Predator, Edward Scissorhands, and many other films where the effects successfully served the story and not vice versa.
