Britt i’m a big fan of your site, but I must respectfully disagree on this. Motley’s new CD has far exceeded my expectations and has definitely surpassed the last several cd’s they put out. SOLA is closer to their classic stuff than any release they’ve had since Dr. Feelgood.

Jay, thanks for the comment. I will grant you that SOLA is better than any of the stuff that Crue has put out since they fired Vince the first time. I also say that the title track comes close to that old Motley vibe but that’s about it.

But overall, the newest release seems to lack the same type of wild energy and musical hooks that those old Crue CDs had. Maybe it’s my expectations of what a reunited Crue CD should sound like but SOLA didn’t really come off like a true return to form. It was more like a warm-up.
