On the one hand, I can kind of understand how parents might misconstrue the Black Canary costumed Barbie there as being some kind of S&M outfitted dominatrix. On the other, Black Canary is one of the super heroes I’ve been actively trying to teach my daughter to recognize by sight, and really, this outfit is no worse that ones in the Bratz line of dolls. But then, I grew up with a sister who was a dancer, so seeing someone decked out in fishnet tights and a leotard always looks like someone performing in a Broadway musical to me…
But religious group Christian Voice said: “Barbie has always been on the tarty side and this is taking it too far.
A children’s doll in sexually suggestive clothing is irresponsible – it’s filth.

this is f’n ridiculous. Are they gonna go after DC comics also for letting a superhero wear fishnets? Give me an f’n break! People in this world will make a big deal about every minute, irrelevant detail. If they bothered to look it up they’d realize Black Canary is a super heroine.
I wouldn’t doubt that “Christian Voice” members have done some filthy stuff. Let’s not even go into that. Let’s just say I bet some of their members know alot about fishnets…
“S&M Barbie” gives me a laugh every time I read it. This is the first article I’ve printed and hung up in a long time.
“I don’t want my kids looking at such filth! Now let’s all get on our knees and worship the mangled, bleeding man nailed to a cross.”
