Pixar Comics…Finally…

And, somewhat less finally, Muppet comics…? Anyway, both are coming from publisher BOOM! Studios in the near future according to an interview with Mark Waid.
“Disney’s been very good about encouraging us to create new villains and new characters,” he said. “Nothing can be named yet, but yeah, we’re trying to draw from and help them build those universes.”
Huh? Is he talking about the same Disney?
Either way, this is kind of a coup for BOOM!, isn’t it? I would argue the supposed Pixar titles that are going to be comics — Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, The Incredibles, Cars, and Wall-E — are some of the most lucrative properties around. If/when word gets out that these exist, it’ll be like printing moolah.

Disney is a whore. To be specific, a whooooooore!
But, better this than direct-to-DVD sequels that were banged out by non-Pixar second-stringers. I haven’t written this off just yet.

Those Boom guys have good connections. And they must have a good eye on the mass market because I’d only buy these if they were using the 3D models.
