After watching all The Dark Knight stars on every single talk show promoting the film in the past few weeks, its really neat to see how this was done back in the day. Here are 2 videos covering one segment featuring the two leads from just before the release of The Empire Strikes Back, the movie that was worth sitting through the other 5 pieces of crap!
Listen to the discussion about the whole Star Wars concept and the interesting answer Mark gives when the goofball interviewer asks him “Which of the two of you will win the love of Princess Leia?”

“The Empire Strikes Back, the movie that was worth sitting through the other 5 pieces of crap!”
Now you’re just being contrarian! Good day to you, sir!
What? You don’t believe that Empire was the best of the Star Wars movies?
No, of course I do — I just don’t think the other 5 are pieces of crap (if that’s what you meant?). Don’t get me wrong, I totally see how people can hate Episodes 1-3, but the original Star Wars is pretty amazing, and Jedi is still a pretty fun movie, if not as good as the first two.
It all comes back to Star Wars!
P.S. Really been enjoying your posts, dude.
P.S. Was it just the early ’80s, was the interviewer born an 70 year old woman?
Daniel – to quote Simon Cowell – “its just my opinion” – I know its blasphemy to piss on the George Lucas canon but I’m trying to prove a point, that Empire was such a great film that the others can’t really hold up to it – yes that can be debated forever and it has and it will – its just my opinion, if you like New Hope and Jedi that is totally cool – just as I find flaws in The Dark Knight but still enjoyed it I can also find the spark of life in those 2 films – Mos Eisly’s best alien scene ever and the Jabba the Hut sequence and the Endor bike sequence are the best scenes that make me love them too but in a different way.
Star Wars will always be the Bible for fandom.
Its so funny the female interviewer – but then again I’m sure Diane Sawyer would have similar questions for the new Star Wars actors today.
But to me its interesting to see how far the Geek Economy has come – so brushed off back then, now Conan, Jay and Dave know their shit when these actors and writers come on today.
