Mattel Kicks it So Old School, Your Grandfather called me

I don’t know if I should be laughing or giving props to Mattel for making a classic Killer Moth action figure (image lifted from Toynewsi.com)

It seems Mattel is trying to please fans, but don’t know which fan was clamoring for a Killer Moth figure. I want to go Kevin Smith on this figure but not sure if that language is allowed on KFR so I’ll just leave it for you to comment on this.

On the flipside, Mattel is still making Justice League Unlimited, and wow look at who they got in there – the 70’s and 80’s DC is strong there: Deadman, Psycho Pirate, Dr. Polaris, Vibe, Steel and B’wana Beast – see them all here.

100-year old Bruce Wayne. ONE HUNDRED YEARS OLD. Is there any other character that fans would buy the “decrepit old man variant” of?

B’wana Beast?!? And you’re complaining about Killer Moth?

Waiting for other bat-foes like Clock King, Crazy Quilt, Calendar Man and The Calculator (the old one with the calculator on his chest.) Hmmm – why all “C” names?

When those are done waiting for the 60’s TV villains like King Tut and whatever character Liberace played.

At least B’Wana Beast was ON Justice League Unlimited…the Killer Moth on The Batman didn’t have those cool striped pants on.

And remember B’Wana Beast has “the ability to fuse together two living animals to make one powerful entity under B’wana Beast’s control”

and Killer Moth…well he had a “moth cave” and was really created to fight Batgirl first without breaking her nails.

Ok, if nothing else, these figures and the above conversation highlight why you will probably never see any recurring D.C. characters in their own film franchises outside of Supes and Batman.
