Dark Horizons had this to say about potential Avengers casting today:
Finally, “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria was seen leaving Marvel Comics head offices on Friday carrying a copy of “The Avengers” comic which has led to speculation that she’ll play Janet Van Dyne (aka. The Wasp) a founding member and eventual wife of ‘Ant-Man’ Hank Pym.
Not a bad choice at all, really. However, KFR’s better, more perfect one? Kate Beckinsale.

Everyone knows Janet is Asian - I vote one of the hotties from the soon-to-bomb Dragonball movie. OK OK, Lucy Liu.
Or if they go with the fashion hungry Janet from 616 then I vote Sarah Jessica Parker. But if its slutty sleeps-with-all-the-Avengers Janet, then I vote Kim Cattrel.
With Eva they save alot of money, no SFX, because isnt she like 2 ft tall in real life?

strangely i can see her as the wasp, she could be able to pull it off. but i think it should go to someone with a little more acting chops. Is 616 asian also, or just ultimate version.

616 Wasp is pure caucasian - a product of the 60s, y’know? She also doesn’t have an equine appearance, so that leaves the ever annoying SJP out of the running, thankfully.
Seriously, Eva Longoria wouldn’t bad a bad Janet Van Dyne at all, it’s just that virtually every movie ever made would be a little bit better if Beckinsale was in it.
