“Punch Out” Sequel, More Titles Announced for Wii

After fans (rightfully) threw a shit fit over Nintendo’s awful E3 showing, where the biggest title announced was Wii Music, the company promised that they had games in the pipeline for core gamers. Yesterday, at conferences in Japan and in the U.S., Nintendo finally unveiled those titles, and they don’t disappoint. Most significant was the unveiling of a new Punch Out — the first since the 1994 SNES Super Punch Out — and Sin & Punishment 2, a sequel to a beloved N64 game that was never released in the U.S. until fans begged for it to be posted on the Virtual Console. Also coming is an updated Nintendo DS with two touch screens, two cameras, and a slew of new games.
Check out the Punch Out trailer here (nerd boner from the music alone), and see some screens below.

Also, I just read that Dead Rising has been re-worked for the Wii! That was the title that initially made me want a 360 (although the RROD + price stopped me). How can you go wrong with Dawn of the Dead: The Videogame?

Yeah I heard about that too…could be awesome if they can get the Wii to pump out decent graphics for it. I downloaded Sin & Punishment on the VC shortly after posting this. Pretty cool game, can’t wait for the sequel now!
