Beautiful New Animated Short

Author: Stephen Gerding May 28th, 2008 No Comments »

Michael Jantze, creator of “The Norm” comic strip, has entered the animation world in a big way. His short, “Mr. Lux: At Your Service,” is an amazing piece of charming retro-style animation. It’s already been accepted into the Festival de Cannes 2008, and I’m willing to bet it’ll be making the internet rounds with gusto soon enough.

“Punches”

I’m not sure what the point is behind this video, other than to be awesome. The main site it’s hosted on is having some sort of meltdown, so if anyone out there knows what the story is, please let us know in the comments.

I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of time and work that went into making this thing, not to mention the legalities. Whatever the case, the end result is nothing short of spectacular!

American Gladiators S2 Premiere

Author: Stephen Gerding May 13th, 2008 No Comments »

I have to admit, I had serious doubts about hulu.com at first, and I still don’t know how the hell they’re making enough money to justify spurning iTunes, but it’s nice to be able to do things like embed an entire episode of American Gladiators on the site, here. This is the season premiere I was rambling about this morning - take look at the AWESOMENESS.

NYC Subway Posters: The Remix

Author: AF Duncan May 5th, 2008 1 Comment »

Some clever and inventive person or persons is running around switching up elements of advertising posters on the NYC subway. I’m not sure exactly how they’re doing it, but it’s neat-o.

I’ve seen the sort of random ripped collages people have been doing for a while (the posters now are essentially big plastic stickers stacked on top of one another), but nothing with structure and meaning like the ones in the link. I’ll be on the lookout from now on…

“Trick My Truck” Goes “Iron Man”

Author: Stephen Gerding April 28th, 2008 No Comments »

The CMT version of “Pimp My Ride,” “Trick My Truck” had an Iron Man edition that aired over the weekend. The guy who had his truck tricked didn’t ask for a superhero themed job, but he was well and truly stoked when he walked into the shop and saw the results. We’ve got a clip from the reveal here, and a few screenshots after the jump.

Did We Really Need “Lost Boys 2?”

Author: Stephen Gerding April 26th, 2008 1 Comment »

I ask this in all sincerity, because I don’t honestly have an answer. Actually, the only thing preventing em from endorsing it 110% is the fact that The Other Corey only has a cameo in the thing and not a full-on role. WTF? He can’t be that busy that he couldn’t sign on for a complete movie - had to be insurance companies not wanting to write a policy for his addled ass…
