One Block Radius

Welcome to the first Kung-Fu Rodeo contest. Up for the winnings are a couple of One Block Radius sample CDs and assorted One Block Radius stickers courtesy of our friends at Low Post Music.

Here’s some back-story to OBR. Scapegoat Wax was signed with the Grand Royal label and released Okeeblow, which was hailed by some reviewers as one of the best CDs of 2001. The song “Aisle 10 (Hello Allison)” was even featured in the great X-Box exclusive game, Jet Set Radio Future. But, then came trouble. Grand Royal was dissolved due to poor mismanagement and Scapegoat Wax landed at Hollywood Records, which didn’t really know how to market them. They released SWAX (a combo of previous released songs from Okeeblow and some new tracks) and the label dropped them due to poor sales. James disbanded Scapegoat Wax and bounced around Chico as a solo act. Fast forward a couple of years pass and James is coming back with One Block Radius, a new group with former Scapegoat Wax member MDA and picked up Z-Man from Hiero Imperius to round out the crew.

So, get in on the next big thing in ‘05 and don’t miss out on listening to some great hip-hop carefully crafted by One Block Radius. All that you have to do is send your name and address to kfrcontests@gmail.com. Contest deadline is Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 11:59 PM PST. One entry per person. Two winners will be selected at random and will be notified by Friday, April 29, 2005 via email. The winners will be also posted on this site on Monday, May 2, 2005.
