OK, this is the last posting full of statues from this summer’s SDCC, but I had to run with it because the Spider-Man statue may be the greatest Spider-Man statue ever. As nice as it looks in the photo, it was 100 times nicer in person, with the blue part of the costume actually made of fabric. Seriously, Sideshow Collectibles may not be cheap, but they produce some sweet, sweet nerd swag. Iron Man, Punisher, Lobster Johnson, Hellboy and two other Spidey statues from another booth and manufacturer after the jump.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not really clear as to which, if any of these have already been released and which were previews at the show, but man, there were alot of nice looking statues and busts based on Marvel characters. My particular favorites are the Captain America bust and the Thing statue.

I forgot to post this one earlier - the littlest conventioneer! 5 months old and she handled it like a pro. Two days of convention crowds, noise and smells (oh god, the smells) and only one outburst. That’s my girl!
I’m not sure what the thinking was behind meaning-up some of Disney’s more lovable dragons and including them in a set with Malificant, but I have to admit that Pete’s Dragon and Mushu do look badass. They’re pretty big, too, standing as much as 10 inches tall. Check the other two pics after the jump.
Ah, the fan costume. A staple of every comic-con, big or small, with the SDCC being the the grandpappy of them all. This summer’s was no exception, with costumed fanboys and girls running all through downtown San Diego. We were only there for a day and a half, but I’ve had my fill until next year. These were some of my favorites.
Teen Titans Go! Starfire had a little too much caffeine at this point and just couldn’t quite hold still.

No idea if this Wonder Woman was a paid booth babe or not, but she was the most popular feature in Mattel’s area.
Last year it was the new animated Catwoman, the year before it was Batman in various stages of head-undress. This summer, I expected some sort of Superman figure, but instead Mattel’s SDCC con exclusive from the DCU is a Justice League Unlimited Solmon Grundy. $20 a pop, and you have to grab a ticket in the morning to see if you win the right to buy one later in the day. Sweet.

Lots more photos and development info online at figures.com.
The always excellent Vinyl Pulse has the rundown on virtually every vinyl figure exclusive all the various companies are going to be offering for sale at this month’s SDCC. There are quite a few figures I’m personally interested in, but my budget will cull most of what isn’t already eaten up by fans before I arrive on Friday. The two below, Mozzarella and Tiger Lilly, I’m expecting will both be sold out before I even get the chance to decide if I want to pony up the cash for them.
