I’m a big fan of black licorice. The anise-flavored candy is actually at the top of my list of sugary snacks, much to my family’s chagrin, so I was really, really looking forward to trying this bit of Jones Soda holiday oddness.
The red licorice fllavored entry in Jones’ Halloween soda fest, Dread Licorice, is actually much less orange than the photos below appear. It’s not exactly blood red or anything, though that would have been great, opting instead to mimic almost perfectly the Twizzler/Red Vine hue we’re all used to.
Let me up front with the fact that I have never, ever had a mojito in my life, so I can’t speak to the authenticity of the Monster Mojito’s taste. I can however tell you that as far as slightly odd flavors goes, it’s pretty good.
Last time, I tried Jones’ limited edition Halloween flavor, Candy Corn. This time, I figured I’d try their Drop Dead Lemon since sour stuff is usually a big hit in my house. The Wife™ tried it before me and couldn’t get past the intitial swig due to the sourness being too overpowering, so I went into this taste test with high hopes.
