In a just world, you’d be able to win one of these puppies at the local town fair/Six Flags:

From the manufacturer:

We can’t believe we haven’t made this toy before now, and when you see it, you won’t believe it either! Fone Bone is made of extra soft plush material and will be wearing his trademark backpack that can be opened and closed. This life-sized toy stands at an impressive 26′ tall! This Fone Bone plush toy is a giant version of the popular 13′ Bone toy that surprised everyone last fall!

Available this summer.

I Want The Mighty Muggs SDCC Exclusive Spidey Parker

Author: Stephen Gerding June 3rd, 2008 8 Comments »

The SDCC exclusives have been dribbling out online for the last few weeks now, but I have to say that this Peter Parker/Spidey figure PREVIEWS is offering is the one I’ve got my sites set on.

How fun is that? I’ve seen these guys with Star Wars paint jobs for a while now, but I’ve been holding out for the Marvel versions. Luckily, they’re dropping this month, if they haven’t already, and if they look as sweet in person as they do in the photos, I’ll be swimming in (relatively) inexpensive vinyl figs.

This Must Be Is An Old And Funny Joke Dept: Super Pii Pii Brothers

Author: AF Duncan May 27th, 2008 1 Comment »

ThinkGeek has a Japanese-import Wii game for sale called Super Pii Pii Brothers, a “virtual peeing” game which apparently “…promotes good bathroom skills and allows women to experience for the first time the pleasure of urinating while standing.”

Uh…

More DIY Superhero Papercraft Figures

Author: Stephen Gerding May 23rd, 2008 1 Comment »

Paperfraft MODOKWe pointed you towards these yesterday, and today we found another site of equally cool DIY papercraft figures - CubeeCraft. I’ve already downloaded and printed out my MODOK template and hope to find time to assemble him over the weekend.

The printout is pretty nice, but it’s unfortunately in jpeg format rather than a scalable PDF or the like, so it may prove difficult to build their Stay Puft Marshmallow Man to scale with any other figures you may decide to populate your cubicle with. Still, I’m looking forward to amazing friends and family alike with my ability to print, cut, fold and tape my way into papercraft figure insanity.

DIY Superhero Papercraft Figures

Author: Stephen Gerding May 22nd, 2008 2 Comments »

With all of the “sweet” factor and none of the cost of vinyl figures, this collection of papercraft comic book characters looks like an excellent way to wile away a hot summer evening. Sadly enough, this looks like it may be the only way my daughter’ll get her hands on a Wonder Woman toy anytime soon.

Hong Kong Gets Some Sweet “Dark Knight” Figures, The US Gets DC Direct

Author: Stephen Gerding May 20th, 2008 11 Comments »

Wow - after seeing these Hong Kong only “Dark Knight” figures (once again, thanks to Lucas), DC Direct should really be ashamed of themselves. The Hot Toys (HK) versions are on the left below, and DC Directs shiny happy versions are on the right.

DC Direct VS Hot Toys Batman

DC Direct VS Hot Toys Joker

If you like them and want to work out the international shipping thing (unless you’re in Hong Kong already, natch), you can order them here for $HK$ 930. Otherwise, cross your fingers and hope that Sideshow Collectibles imports a bunch at eventually.

Descriptions of the figures are below the jump, big photos are in the KFR gallery.

Amazon Taunts Me: Summer Edition

Author: Stephen Gerding May 12th, 2008 No Comments »

I actually like that Amazon sends me sporadic emails full of “You bought X recently, maybe you’ll like Y!” suggestions, but sometimes it just makes me sad. This morning, for instance, I received an email because I buy toys online from time to time. You know - for the kid and her friends. At any rate, it was the summer toys email, full of inflatable water games and the like. Generally nothing special, and I’ve gotten used to not owning a pool so I gloss over most of them. However, right now I’m a very, very sad nerd dad because there’s no chance in hell I’d be able to fit this beauty in my lovely, ultra tiny and concrete covered SoCal backyard.

Instead, I think we’re gonna settle on getting this little guy. For our daughter, that is. I hope she understands…
